12mm blue metal — arai jalli — is the 8–16 mm fraction screened to the IS 383 12.5 mm nominal envelope. It goes where 20mm cannot pass: lintels, sunshades, staircases, precast slabs, thin walls and columns with dense reinforcement, and it is the second half of the 60:40 blend that ready-mix plants pump.
Block and paver manufacturers use 12mm with 6mm chips and crusher dust for coarser mixes; road contractors take it as a bituminous surface-course fraction. Like all our aggregate it is cone-and-VSI shaped granite from the Perindesam deposit, weighed and papered per load.

Produced to IS 383:2016 gradings (M-Sand Zone II, P-Sand to IS 1542, GSB/WMM to MoRTH Section 400). Gradation, silt, crushing value and flakiness are tested through accredited third-party laboratories; certificates accompany every bulk contract.

12mm metal supplied for slab work was properly graded with very little dust. Billing was transparent and the office adjusted our GST invoice the same day. Will continue sourcing from them for the next phases.
Good quality 12mm chips for our columns and lintels. One load arrived an hour later than promised during peak season, but the office informed us in advance and the material itself was worth the wait.
GSB supplied for our approach road passed the density tests first time. Gradation was exactly as per our specification sheet. Their team even arranged night-time delivery for our traffic window.

Blue Metal 12mm — questions buyers ask
When should I use 12mm instead of 20mm jalli?
When the member is thin (under about 60 mm) or the reinforcement is so dense that 20mm cannot pass between bars — lintels, sunshades, staircases, precast elements — and in pumped RMC where a 20/12 blend flows better.
Is 12mm the same as 10mm aggregate?
In the trade they overlap. Our 12mm is the 8–16 mm fraction meeting the IS 383 12.5 mm nominal grading; buyers asking for 10mm single-size for chips or bituminous work should specify it so we screen accordingly.
Do block manufacturers buy 12mm from you?
Yes — usually with 6mm chips and crusher dust for hollow-block and paver mixes, in mixed tipper loads.
