How to Order and Receive a Tipper Load: 7 Steps from Quote to Unloading

Send the item, quantity in tonnes, site location and date; get a written delivered quote, book 24–48 hours ahead, and clear a firm patch about 5 × 5 m with no overhead wires. When the truck arrives, check the weighbridge slip and papers before the body tips. Minimum order for aggregates and sand: 1 load (~18 T) per material.

1. Work out the quantity in tonnes

We sell aggregates and sand by weighbridge tonne, so start there. One unit (100 cft) is about 4.1–5 MT depending on the material, and a 10-wheeler carries 16–20 MT.

  • Whole house: about 93 MT of jalli and sand per 1,000 sq ft.
  • One slab: about 15 MT of 20mm and 8 MT of M-Sand per 1,000 sq ft at 5 inches.
  • Plaster: about 0.2 MT of P-Sand per 100 sq ft at 12 mm.
  • Plot filling: about 60 MT of crusher dust per 1,000 sq ft per foot.

Next question: Is a unit the same as a tonne? No; one unit of 20mm jalli is about 4.4 MT. Read

2. Send the request

Use the quote form, WhatsApp or call +91 90039 03003. The sales desk calls back within 15 minutes during desk hours.

  • Item and grade: for example 20mm jalli, Zone II M-Sand, 6-inch solid blocks, Fe 500D 12 mm.
  • Quantity: MT for sand and jalli; pieces, rods or tonnes for stock items.
  • Site location: area, PIN and a landmark or map pin.
  • Date: the day you need it and, for slabs, the pour date.
  • Access: road width, gate width and anything overhead.

Next question: What comes back? A written delivered quote for your drop point. Read

3. Read the delivered quote

For our own aggregates and sand the quote has four lines: ex-works rate, royalty at actuals, transport to your site and 5% GST. Stock items (river sand, TMT bars, blocks, bricks) are priced from the nearest yard that holds them, in their own unit; river sand travels only with a valid transit permit.

4. Confirm and book the slot

  • Book 24–48 hours ahead so the load is scheduled against your pour.
  • Retail and spot orders are paid before dispatch; established buyers can apply for credit terms.
  • Loaded-truck time from the works: about 2–2.5 h to Tiruvallur, 2.5–3 h to Gummidipoondi and 3–3.5 h to North Chennai, traffic permitting.

Next question: Do you deliver at night? Central Chennai sites are usually served at night; see the questions below. Read

5. Get the site ready

Top view of a plot: a tipper about 2.5 metres wide reverses through a gate at least 3 metres wide and tips its load on a firm patch about 5 by 5 metres, with no wires or branches overheadno wires or branches over the tipping spotheap ≈ 5 × 5 m(18 MT, one tip)tipper ≈ 2.5 m wide;body rises to tipfirm ground underthe wheelsroadgate 3 m or wider
Top view of a plot ready for a tipper: wide gate, firm ground, clear sky above the tipping spot and room for the heap.
  • Access: trucks in India can be up to 2.6 m wide, so a gate or lane narrower than about 3 m is a problem. Tell us in advance.
  • Firm ground: a loaded 10-wheeler weighs around 28 tonnes. Keep it off septic tanks, sumps, fresh fill and soft verges.
  • Headroom: the tipper body rises well above the cab when it tips. Check for power lines and branches over the tipping spot.
  • Heap space: 18 MT of jalli is about 11–12 m³, and of M-Sand about 11 m³. Tipped in one heap that needs a clear patch of about 5 × 5 m; on a narrow plot the driver can spread it while moving.
  • Clean base: tip sand and jalli on a hard patch or a tarpaulin, apart from each other, so mud stays out of the mix.
  • Timing: inside Chennai city heavy vehicles are restricted on some roads in the daytime, so central-city sites are usually served at night. Port and industrial gates have their own entry windows. Your area page lists the local notes we have.

Next question: Street too narrow for a 10-wheeler? Ask whether a 6-wheeler (9–12 MT) can be arranged for your site. Read

6. When the truck arrives

  1. Match the vehicle number to the slip and the invoice.
  2. Read the net weight on the weighbridge slip.
  3. Look at and rub the material (checks 1–4 in our quality guide).
  4. Then let it tip. Unloading normally takes minutes; our delivered prices assume the truck is unloaded within 1 hour of arrival, and longer waits can be charged as detention.
  5. Photograph the slip and keep the invoice; registered buyers need it for input tax credit.

Bricks, blocks and TMT bundles are unloaded differently from a tipper. Ask at booking how they will be unloaded and whether labour is included.

Next question: What are the four checks at the truck? Slip and papers, colour and smell, wet-palm rub, jalli shape. Read

7. After unloading

  • Keep a sample of each sand load until the slab or plaster is done.
  • Cover sand heaps in wind and rain; keep jalli clear of mud.
  • Order the next stage's loads two days before you need them.

Next question: Need help planning stages? Send the drawing on WhatsApp; we reply with a stage-wise load schedule. Read

Questions buyers ask

Questions buyers ask

What is the minimum order?

For our aggregates and sand, one full tipper load per material: 16–20 MT, about 18 MT. Smaller quantities are best collected ex-works once collection is available.

How quickly can you deliver?

Book 24–48 hours ahead. Loaded trucks take about 2–2.5 hours to Tiruvallur, 2.5–3 to Gummidipoondi and 3–3.5 to North Chennai from the works, traffic permitting.

Do you deliver inside Chennai city?

Yes. Heavy vehicles are restricted on some city roads in the daytime, so central-city sites are scheduled at night; the northern and western suburbs usually take daytime loads.

How much space does one tipper load need?

About a 5 × 5 m patch if it is tipped in one heap, plus room for a truck up to 2.6 m wide to reverse in and lift its body clear of wires and branches.

Can I pay after delivery?

Retail and spot orders are paid before dispatch. Dealers, RMC plants and established contractors can be set up on agreed credit terms against a written limit.

Need bulk aggregate you can plan around?

Send the material, quantity and site location. Our sales desk in Gummidipundi calls you back within 15 minutes during desk hours to work out a delivered quote and a dispatch slot.
